I just went to post my picture and found out I wasn't late after all. The new challenge was posted before the old challenge was totally closed so I have entered it for both.
I used circle die cuts and flower die cuts and a flourish die cut. I added piercing to my sentiment and around the green circle backing my image. The torn paper strip is for the GAB Challenge. Glad I didn't miss that dead line. Now I just have to rework my card for the other challenge. Here is also a snowman card I tried this week. I think he is so cute. I am showing it closed and opened. A day late and a dollar short
I started 2 challenges at the beginning of the week only to find out I missed the cut off date by a day. How did that happen??? I'm on vacation!!!Doing vacation things yet still getting some stamping in but I missed the cut off. Oh well. I managed to save the first card and make it work. The Challenge at the Stampin Bs last week was to use a Friendship sentiment but this week it was to use 2 die cuts and paper piercing. So I took my image I had colored and my sentiment I had stamped and re-worked the card by adding piercing. Here it is.

All glittered up
Starting out my 2nd week of vacation with a hair cut and washed all those gray hairs away for awhile. The challenge at Speedy the Cats Friends was to use glitter or some other kind of sparkle. I have glittered and glittered on top of the glitter. The stamps are from Marks Finest Papers.
I hope to work on a few things this week I have copied off to try.

Beautiful Summer time
This stamp has been on my desk all week waiting for me. I just couldn't find the time to make anything between work, foot problems and a new calf born Sunday giving us a hard few days. The stamp is from I Brake for Stamps. I am entering this card into 2 challenges. Speedy the Cats Friends. The challenge was to use buttons. The sea shell and the sand dollar are actually buttons. I cut the shank off the back of them before attaching to my card. The GAB challenge this week was to make a summertime card. Nothing better than going to the beach and picking up sea shells. The image was colored with Prisma pencils and Gamsol.
Here is a picture of mom and son. Molly Moo and Moe Moo.

This is a great sketch
As soon as I saw this sketch I knew I wanted to use it. The sketch is the challenge at Pals Paper Arts this week. I am also entering my card for the challenge at Stampin Bs- use a border punch.
I found the red embossed square in my scrap box. So many blogs used vellum this I was inspired to bring mine out and use it. I embossed it with a Cuttlebug border folder and colored from the back with markers. The Happy Birthday is from Marks Finest Papers. The punch is a Martha Stewart.

A sketch from GAB
This week the Gab Challenge was this sketch. It just wasn't for me. Sorry ladies of Gab.
I cut all the squares and rectangles and fit them all together like the sketch but for me it was just not working. Looked too messy and disorganized for my style. I took it apart time and time again and then finally gave up. So that was thrown out and I cut some more squares out of 2 pieces of background in my stash. Spaced them evenly and then went to look for some ribbon to match. Came back to my desk with this farm animal ribbon. Don't know why but it just leaped into my hand within seconds of opening the drawer. Added that and then was about to work on a flower when I remember the rhinestone farm animals I recently picked up at Micheals. So this little cow became my embellishment.
Poppies Poppies Poppies
This is a beautiful stamp set from Marks Finest Papers which just arrived. I had poppies all over my yard up in Ohio in all colors. I don't think I have ever seen a poppy here in Florida but after being reminded by this stamp set of their beauty I am going to investigate and see if I can find one. I always enjoyed them each summer when they bloomed. I've colored these with Prisma pencils and Gamsol.
2 challenges
The Challenge at The Friends of Speedy the Cat is to make a Fathers Day card this week. I started out trying to combine this challenge with the Stampin Bs challenge which is use 1 layer, 2 stamps and 3 colors plus neutrals. I stamped the truck and colored it with 3 colors, added the sentiment and hated it. It was just too plain. So trimmed it down, finished coloring it and added my layers and bling to finish the card. I am much happier with it now but I still needed a card for the other challenge. Over at Speedy TV there was a card posted which caught my eye last week. It was such an easy design technique and was perfect for the Stampin Bs challenge. So I have used the idea but changed it by not having a colored layer. I have 1 white card base layer, used 2 stamps from the new set Poppies Poppies Poppies from Marks Finest Papers and 3 colors plus black. I made a stamp pad with shades of blue and mustard to stamp the poppies.

My try at a Stair Step card
I have seen several of these on blogs lately and Splitcoasters had the directions last week. After several attempts at figuring out the cuts I finally succeeded.

Casing a card
Do you ever look through the blogs and see a card you like and save it to your desk top. I do and they sit there until I have time to play and make one as close as possible. I saw a card some time ago that used a Cuttlebug die I have and have never really used it. Those are really the cards I like to Case. Some of you have such great ideas and ways of looking at dies. Most of the time I would not even had thought of doing things the way you do in these cards. This card is one of those I would not have thought of doing. I put to use 2 of the Cuttlebug dies I have had for years but do not use.
The image for this card is from I Brake for Stamps. I added one of my backgrounds behind the squares.
This one uses stamps from Flourishes.
Both cards were made entirely with scraps except for the card base. So I am still sticking to using up those scraps. I think the pile is going down. There is so much of it but it does look smaller. I moved my full sheets into the bedroom and put them in the closet so I wouldn't be so quick to grab them. The only whole sheets of card stock near my desk are white. Hopefully some day the stack will be used up so I can start again.

3-D Flowers
This is my first try at folding with this die cut. I used card stock but I think I am going to try DP and book pages the next time to get a tighter flower. This is for The Friends of Speedy the Cat challenge- 3-D Flowers. The sentiment is from the Magnolia Wedding set from Marks Finest Papers. The Flower is the create a Rose die from Spellbinders.
