I made several cards before one finally turned out looking like the sketch. I started out with that center square each time but before I knew it I had put a card together. They just weren't the sketch. My hands had a mind of their own the last 2 evenings. Finally though I succeeded. The background uses Encaustic Wax. The rest were just scraps from my Cuttlebugging. The saying is from I Brake for Stamps.

A demo sneak peak
I'm doing a demo March 14 at the Stamping Studio on how to use the Nestabilities for other things than just layering on a card. I'm having a great time trying to alter things today. I say trying because this is somethng I just don't do but I don't think this looks too bad. I got the little tin at Michaels yesterday for $1.00. The roses and the leaves were all circles. The ribbon I found in my stash. Got it in a PIF and luckily it was sticky on the back. WOO HOO ! Added some Stickles dots around the edge and a couple of bling hearts also from a PIF. The demo will be from 2-3. Come on out and see what else I come up with.

We had a fun day
My Sister and her husband have now left but not before we had a wonderful day. We went to Homosassa Springs State Park. A little chilly yesterday but it didn't stop us from enjoying the day. Bryan and I both played hookie from work. Here we are.
That's my sister Mary and her Husband Bill, my Mom, me and my husband behind me and my Dad. Lots of great pictures were taken. While there we ran into Dawn D and the always smiling Miss Molly. Dawns' Mom was there as well as a cute little nephew.
I actually had a stamp that belonged to her in my purse so I was glad to get that returned. Husband didn't get a picture of Molly. He was way to busy taking pictures of me all day. And I mean all day. We have pictures of me looking for him through the crowds. I just couldn't keep track of him because of that hat. The bald head is easier to spot. We have pictures of me looking at animals from the other side of the cages. He was just busy busy busy.

Another Mojo Sketch and my Basket
Here it is Monday again and time for another sketch. I love this sketch. I can see using it more. You've heard me talk about the basket I work out of. I was taking it to my Stamping groups get together at the end of the month but the lady wanting to see it will not be attending so I thought I would show all of you. It really exists. There are images colored and uncolored, 6x6 papers and lots of scraps of card stock and of course my backgrounds. Every once in a while I add something new. To make this card I looked through the images for something square and went from there. The image is from a swap and the paper I received in a PIF. I Used my square Nestabilities to cut it out and a layer of Choc. brown. Added a raffia bow and a Nestabilities circle for the Hi!. I am really pleased with it. Did I say I love this sketch!!

A sketch and a Tutorial
It's Monday again and time for the Mojo Monday Sketch. I'm doing good so far. Haven't missed a one in 09. Here's my card. I had fun making it. It's been forever since I did this technique. Let me tell you about it.
I Host a Technique swap on my group SSSD and this month I am teaching how to make a plaid. A friend of mine showed this technique about 2 years ago and I haven't tried it again until now. I ask myself why because this is great! It makes a wonderful Spring looking design, I think, and we are all ready for that. It starts with a little template. This one is made on a plastic graph sheet but I used acetate to make them for my swappers. It's 2x6". Skip the first 1/4" and cut out a 1/2" piece along the long side leaving 1/4 at each end. That's the wide space. Now skip 1/4" and cut out a 1/4" piece along the long side leaving 1/4" at each end. And now you have your narrow space. Hope that all made sense.
Tape it down to your work surface on each side and slip your card stock under it. Your card stock should be even with the top of your template. The wide space should be at the top.
Now pick 2 colors of dye ink pads. I used SU Barely Banana and Certainly Celery. With a sponge dauber and Banana I filled in the wide space.
With another dauber I filled in the narrow space with celery.
Now move the card stock up lining up the bottom of the Celery space with the top of the template.
Continue with filling in the spaces until you reach the bottom. Now turn your card stock 1/4 turn and line the tops up again.
Fill in the spaces as you did before until you reach the bottom.
Now finish your card. Here's another one I made. The Rose is a Spellbinder die. The square I made with a border punch.

Graduation already??
My baby will be graduating in May and I am making her announcements. Isn't this cute. We're hoping for a few scholarships to help pay for college. She wants to be a zoologist. Looked everywhere for a cute stamp and found this one at Whipper Snappers. We aren't the serious type. We like cutesy animals. Exactly why my yard looks like a petting zoo. Gosh it really hard to believe she's graduating from High School. It seems like just yesterday...................... Well you know the story. My tests came back normal so the medical scare we had at the beginning of last month is behind us. That's good news. I just pre-ordered a few of the new Spellbinders dies. I was so bad. Will have to wait till sometime in March or April for those to come. Now waiting to see what the new Cuttlebug folders look like. I'm sure I'll need a few of those also.
