Here is the Mojo Monday Sketch. You had a choice between a round card and a square. I chose round to be different.
I used one of my rolled roses for the corner piece and cut up a Bling Flourish for behind the sentiment. All the die cuts are Nestabillities.

PPA sketch challenge
I really wanted to use this sketch from Pals Paper Arts along with the Horribillis color challenge I posted yesterday but just couldn't make it work. This card however went together in less than 5 minutes so I guess the sketch was meant for it.

A Horribilis Challenge
That's a strange word isn't it. This Play Date Cafe challenge is looking at colors that clash. Their choices for this challenge are: hot pink, navy blue and mustard.
The Happy Birthday stamp is from Sparkle n Sprinkle. The rose is from Spellbinders and I used my Scor Pal to score the mustard layer which was sponged with Memento Cantelope.
I think they go together just fine.

A Western Theme
The Stampin Bs this week wanted us to make a Western card. I think this is my only western type stamp. It's from I Brake For Stamps. The first card I stamped it in black pigment ink and embossed in black. Then sponged the background with distress inks masking the moon and the ground. The second one is stamped onto a salted background.

Harvest time
I've combined the Mojo Monday sketch
with the Speedy the cats Friend challenge which was Make a Harvest card.
I made a direct to paper background with Distressed ink and Opalite inks. Then I sprayed it with webbing. The leaf is copper cut out with my Cuttlebug and heated to make it change colors.

I'm feeling leafy
For the Play Date Cafe Challenge we were to use these colors. Very calm and serene feeling colors together. I wasn't very calm or serene though designing this card.
I went through many backgrounds until I came up with this one. Several went into the trash being total disasters. Webbing wouldn't even had helped them that's how bad they were. For this background I used a stamp and a die cut from Stampin Up. They matched too. Never realized they were the same image. I used the colors from Memento New Sprout and Cottage Ivy, SU Certainly Celery and Hero Arts Soft Pool.

This week at The Stampin B's and Pals Paper Arts
Over at Stampin B's we were to use a die cut a circle and a flower and at Pals Paper Arts we were to use this picture for inspiration.
I combined the 2 and came up with this 5" square card using pink and the earth tones found in the inspiration photo. I also used the Mystery item for a swap on my one Yahoo group. I'm not telling what the mystery item was. I used 2 Spellbinder diecuts, round pearls and the rolled roses.
I also made a second card for the Stampin Bs challenge. The image is Inkadinkado and cut from a Nestabilities oval. Round Bling and a rolled rose.

I stamped both the card base and my yellow layer with yellow ink and a flourish stamp from Hero Arts. Then I cut a scalloped oval and a plain oval with my Nestabilities. Added some yellow ink around the edges. Added a sentiment and some Bloomers from Coronado Island Rubber Stamps that I stamped, cut and rolled.

One last challenge for today
Pals Paper Arts
Challenge this week was a color challenge. Here are the colors.
This one I played around with for quite sometime this evening. I started by picking out the card stock and then tried to find a stamp to go with it. When I came across this tulip stamp from Great Impressions I knew I found what I needed. I used Copics in as close to the colors as I could find and then I Clear Embossed the whole thing. Using my square nestabilities I cut out squares in 2 different sizes and colors and alternated them behind a piece of Designer paper from SU that I punched with a Martha Stewart punch. It turned out very bright and cheery looking. Very different for me with all the layers.

Make A Scene
That was the theme for Stampin Bs this Thursday and the colors for The Play Date Cafe challenge were brown, beige and green.
Perfect scene colors for a great outdoorsy look. All stamps used are from I Brake For Stamps.
The 3 little pigs are getting bigger every day. They've been named Timmy, Tammy and Tommy. Mama Pearl though has not been well since giving birth. She has an infection that she is being treated for and hopefully will be feeling better real soon.

Yesterday I woke up for work after not being able to sleep most of the night. So I was really dragging. Must have fell back to sleep or something but I lost an hour and when I looked at the clock I was due to be at work in 10 minutes. Needless to say I was a half hour late and the rest of the day continued in that direction. This morning I turned on the computer and the first thing I read was that I WON!!! over at Pals Paper Artswith my KISS Masculine card. I am so excited. Now hope the rest of the day goes in this direction. Should make for a wonderful day even if I do have to go to work.

This weeks Play Date Cafe challenge
This week we were to use these colors. You will find all the details and cards that were made HERE.
I looked through my stash of cards trying to find some inspiration. I found this card.
I had brayered a rainbow pad onto a piece of glossy card stock and stamped with white pigment ink. It reminded me of a wax paper resit background that I knew there were several blank ones in my stash. You Cuttlebug emboss the wax paper in an embossing folder. Very cool.
Here is how you do it. Take your piece of wax paper and put it inside an embossing folder. Run it through your machine. Now place it between 2 pieces of glossy card stock. The shiny side of the card stock should be facing the wax paper. Place a piece of copy paper or newsprint over the top and iron for 45 seconds or so. You will know when it is finished as the card stock will separate from the wax paper easily. Let it cool off a minute and then add color. So here is the first one. I sponged on Distressed inks. This one is over stamped with Adirondack red pepper and then the sentiment stamped at the bottom. Of course it wasn't supposed to be going up hill. I have no idea how it got so crooked but I decided to make it work. I added a little Spellbinder doodle under it, added some bling and no one knows it wasn't intentionally stamped that way. Well I guess you know now.LOL. On the inside it says YOU.
The last one I also sponged on the color and over stamped with 2 different SU flower stamps. Added a little bit of Stickles glitter and a flower cut with the Dahlia Spellbinder die. I think I like this one the most.

Stampin Bs dog challenge
Wow when I saw the Stampin Bs challenge was to include a dog item I didn't think I would be able to participate. I just don't have a dog stamp. I kept looking hoping to find a dog somewhere on any stamp. Thank goodness for Stampscapes. Now I can participate. Here is my card. I sponged the whole thing masking the sun.
Maculine card challenge
Over at Pals Paper Arts their challenge for this week was a masculine KISS ( Keep it Simple Sweetie )card. It was to be clean with lots of white space. A simple design with a minimum time to create. And limited layers and embellishments. I immediately thought of the card I just saw On Stamp TV and showed at the last get together. Takes like all of 2 minutes to make. The stamp is brand new from SU. The colors I used were Distressed ink pads Old Paper and Weathered Wood.

Mojo Sketch #150
Here's my card for this weeks Mojo Monday Sketch challenge. I had scraps of purple paper on my desk from a challenge last week so I started there. Still continuing my Birthday card theme. Lots of Birthdays this month. The little butterflies are from a SU embosslit and the butterfly border is a Martha Stewart punch that arrived in my mail yesterday.

A black & white challenge
This week at The Play Date Cafe the challenge was to make a black & white card with a splash of green.
You can read about it Here. This became a real problem for me but once I stopped trying to make my background paper and found this stamp everything just sort of fell into place. I was trying to emboss black flowers on my white card stock and could not get it to look right. So out came the webbing and I was happy as can be with my background. And as soon as I sat down again to try and put something together and saw this great stamp from Stampendous I knew what to do with it to get my splash of green.

I need more purple !
That's what I found out this week. The Challenge at Pals Paper Arts called for a Monochromatic card using purple. Well I searched and searched. I finally found a tiny scrap of the flowered paper and a piece of sparkly paper just the right size for a card front. The image was one on my desk waiting to be colored. So purple bow, hat and chalked background. A raisin color for the ground and I found this small piece of dark purple card stock in my scrap box. I found those 2 purple flowers and the bling to match. I just don't do purple. It's a lovely color. Most of my favorite flowers are purple buts its not a color I reach for when shopping for supplies. Now for the theme. Thankfully over at the Stampin B's the theme for this weeks challenge was to make a birthday card. The punch is SU and I think this is the first time I ever used it. Well here's my card.
Onto the next challenge that has been giving me a hard time. Black and white only with a touch of green. I need color. I have been trying things for days with no success. But this will not beat me. I'll be back with a card.
