Mojo Sketch time again

I really wanted to do this last night but I sat down and did something I haven't done in eons. I knitted. When I was visiting my son and daughter in law I noticed all her dish cloths were hand made. It just so happens I was going to do this a few years ago for myself and had the booklet and yarn for the project so out it came. Have 2 done so far. Going to make a few more and then send them off to her. Hope she will like them. Now for my sketch. I used a new Inkadinkado stamp I had colored with pencils and embellished with white liquid pearl. The paper is a double sided card stock I got in a swap. The colors matched perfectly. Some pretty pink pearls, a SU punched scalloped circle finished it off. Now I need to get busy because the supply of colored images in my basket is dwindling.

2 Sketches this week

Spring Break is over and I am back to work and have been very busy making Robin's Graduation announcements. I want to mail them Monday. I also am working on matching Thank you cards for her. But I took time to work on 2 sketches today. The first one is the Mojo Monday sketch. This sketch is for a square card. I searched through my basket and found this Shadow stamped edge I had made with a SU stamp. I used the scalloped edge punch to finish it off. Not sure about the little daisy stamp. It is an image I have had laying around for quite some time and it was the only one I had that was the right size. The Butterflies I punched out of a scrap of webbed card stock.

Then I have been participating on a Cuttlebug group. Besides following the sketch you must Cuttlebug something on the card. Again I looked for an image that would work with something I already had Cuttlebugged. Found the leaves I made just recently. I also ran the top piece of paper through in a folder.

This last card I have been working on for days. I'm not really into big bows but I was trying to make something a little different then my usual. One of my favorite blogs is Amazing Paper Grace. She always has these great bows on her cards. So I gave it a try but it took me days trying to figure out what I needed on the card with that bow. It is finally finished. I'm putting it away before I have a chance to do something else to it.

It's been a Cuttlebug day.

I decided to do the Sketch Challenge for the Creative Cuttlebuggers Yahoo group which I just recently found and before I knew it I had a stack of cards. Here is the card for the sketch challenge:

Now remember the technique Kren taught us a few months ago. Well today I finally decided to try it again. So I ran the CS through the Cuttlebug, inked it up and started to smoosh. Well that smooshing was not working for me so let me tell you a secret. For those of you who don't know the technique I will explain. You take your card stock in the diamonds folder, run it through the Cuttlebug and now very carefully rub an ink pad over the raised area. Now you are supposed to use your bone folder and smoosh all the raised areas flat. After rubbing for quite sometime I decided to let the Cuttlebug do it for me. I tried numerous ways and finally came up with the right combination. Take the A plate- B Plate-your inked card stock piece- 3 pieces of card stock and the C plate. Run it through and it is good and flat! Now you put it into another folder, run it through and ink just like before. Here a few of mine using different folders.

Really enjoyed making them with this technique. Have a few more to finish. I tend to do these things in bunches. One more card to show you. This one uses the Branch folder. I used a dauber to ink the high area. Stamped the Inkadinkado owl and embossed. Colored him in with distressed inks and daubers. Cut him out and sat him in the tree.

Well I have enjoyed my day. Hope you enjoyed yours.

I almost missed Mojo Monday

After getting back from vacation I had a hard time getting motivated. Thank goodness I had a class to teach on Thursday. It forced me to get going. Yesterday was and today is all about creating. So here is my Mojo Sketch. The paper is SU. The little embellishment is a Miniabilities that I glittered up after coloring. The image is from I Brake for Stamps. I also played with one of my new Spellbinder dies. This one is a sunflower. It is on the front of a card that will be part of my next class. I will be teaching different folds.

Back from Ohio

Had a great visit with my 2 boys. It was cold but I survived. Of course they thought I whined way to much about it. We learned to play the Wii and my Husband played Guitar Hero. Saw all the changes that have taken place since we moved to Florida. Had dinner with my Brother and SIL, my Sister and BIL, my 2 sons and DILs, 2 Grandsons and my daughter, her friend and my 2 Grandaughters. Here we all are

My youngest son bought a house after I left Ohio so this was my first time seeing it. It's an older house with great walls and wood floors. New windows that open out so you can wash them. Great idea. They should have lots of fun making it their own as they decorate. For us it's great to be home. Back to being warm and getting back into the routine here. Maybe next winter we'll try a trip again if we can find someone to take over the farm chores for us. It's kind of hard to take a vacation with all these critters.

Mojo Monday and an update on Charlie Pork Chop

WOW!! This week is getting away from me. So much to do before we leave tomorrow. Vacations need planning. We're never going to get it all done but I was determined to get to my sketch. So last night there was no bed time till I finished it. Here it is.

Thank goodness for my Handy Dandy Basket. I looked for an image the right size and shape and went from there. Now to Charlie. Well I think we are finally Charlie proof. He hasn't escaped again. Hopefully when we get back he will still be there. Being the smart little fellow he is, he could be waiting for us to leave to make his move. We shall see. I will have lots of pictures to show you of my grand babies both human and not so human after Easter. Everyone enjoy the Holiday.

The story of Charlie Pork Chop

Today started out like any other Sunday. We got up , took care of the animals and headed off to Church. After Church we were to go on an adventure to Homosassa. To the farm of Dawn Ds' dad to pick up Charlie Pork Chop. We brought 2 boxes with us not really sure how big he was going to be. Dawns' dad let us borrow a cage and thank goodness he did. We got Charlie home and put him in his nice new piggy area up near Molly Moo. Molly however is not thrilled that he is there. Anyways he eats and drinks and rooted and snoozed. Here he is snoozing. He looks happy and content doesn't he?

Here we are posing for the camera. Look at him smile!!! Doesn't he look happy!! Oh wait I guess that I'm the one smiling. He was planning. He was about to be a BAD PIGGY!!

Hubby and I go for a ride out to the pond to see the baby cranes. I'm afraid they didn't make it. Something must have eaten them. The parents were out there but no babies. We were sad and headed back to do some yard work. I look up and think to myself that pig sure looks like it's not where he belongs. Sure enough he wondered into the barn. So I run and get Bryan and he catches him. Puts him back and wonders how this pig got out. Doesn't the litle piggy know Bryan dug real deep and buried the fencing so he couldn't dig his way out. We head back to what we were doing, turn around and that bad little piggy was squeezing through the fence. Bryan runs to get some wood. I run all over the pasture chasing this pig. I haven't run in years. It wasn't pretty. Bryan puts the wood around the bottom , catches the pig and once again we are off to finish what we were doing. YEAH RIGHT!!!! That bad little piggy jumped over the boards and climbed out above the boards. Now the boards were at least 18 inches high. Who knew white pigs could jump!! So there I am again chasing pig. Bryan gets some chicken wire and starts hanging that around the inside but the pig snooted it up and climbed under it. Now I'm thinking to myself the pigs at the farm weren't trying to escape. What is the big deal. So now Charlie Pork Chop is in the cage. Thank goodness we were allowed to borrow the cage. Bryan has got all the chicken wire up and is now nailing the boards back up along the bottom. He also is putting a wooden floor down next to the barn so he can't did an escape tunnel under the barn. I saw the big light bulb above his head. I bet Dawn told him what his purpose is. That must be why he keeps trying to escape. So hubby is not allowed to come in tonight until that cage is totally Charlie proof. What an afternoon.
Earlier before all this piggy mischief we found a baby raccoon in the barn so hubby being the nut he is had to catch it and talk to it and of course be photographed with yet another critter he has caught. Meet Rocky.

It's not PINK!!

Today I sat down to play with my leaves die. I wish they were smaller. They are just a little too big for my liking. I started out with a piece of white card stock that I sponged with fall colors of Distressed inks.

Laid my dies on top and ran them through the Cuttlebug in an A-C-die-B sandwich to cut and an A- die-rubber mat-3 pieces of card stock and 2 B plates to emboss.

And there you have instant Fall leaves. I also used the left over piece of colored card stock to punch out tiny leaves. Can't finish a Fall card without them.

Here are my cards. I didn't like the leaves against the yellow . Just seemed too plain so I sprayed it with Glimmer Mist Walnut Gold. That was exactly what it needed. The saying is from Impression Obsession.

I sprayed the background of this one and the leaves with Glimmer Mist Pearl. I also cut a leaf out of Copper shim stock and heated it with my heat gun to make it change colors. The saying was a $1.00 bin stamp from Micheals.

Maybe tomorrow I will be able to play with another die set.

Please excuse my paper but look at my new Nesties

I'm sure this is getting old. I have to put out some other paper before I play again. I need to make something that isn't pink. Todays cards use 2 of my new Spellbinder dies. These first 2 use the new Nestibilities Dahlia. For the first one I cut everyother one from either the Kiwi paper or the Raspberry Tart paper then layered then to create a flower. The leaf is a Shapeabilities. The second card uses the Dahlia dies laying inside of each other to cut. What you get are these little flower frames. Layered them on top of 2 pieces cut from the Nestie Label 1 getting this great medallion.

The next 2 cards use the Rose Edgebilities die. For the first card I folded the white card stock in half forming my card. Opened it up and laid the die on top with the edge of the die even with the crease. Then I ran it through my Cuttlebug to cut and then emboss. Next I used finger daubers to stencil the roses and leaves while they were still in the die. The 2 smaller ones are seperate from the larger bunch of roses. When you see the die it looks like they are all one piece. I stamped the Happy Mothers Day in the opening that is formed. The last card I first stamped the pink card stock with versa mark using a background stamp. Then embossed with white. I cut and embossed the roses on white and stenciled as before. Cut the larger bunch down to fit the side of the card and attached each small rose to the other corners. Then I punched the tiny butterflies out of a pink technique paper.

I really like the Roses. Now I promise there will be no more pink. Or at least I'll try. I'm really hooked on this paper. Hope to get to play with a few more new things tomorrow.
