Gellied waters

I've read so much about Gelli plates lately I had to finally breakdown and get one. What a cool technique this is for making backgrounds. Messy messy messy but very cool. This is just a fairly simple one using only a texture tool. Looked like water to me sooooooooo..... Saw this little Koi die cut last week during the blog hop and went on a search for it. Love him too.  Add the Lotus Blossoms from MFPa HC and I've got a card that turned out the way I saw it in my head. Two of the Lotus blossoms have a double layer popped up. I have a schedule posting of my Basic Backgrounds column on 8-13-13 showing how to use the Gelli Plate on Speedy TV.

This is the technique we learned this week at Tutorial Time on Speedy TV.  Making a card from an envelope. Check it out and join in the fun. The envelope is sponged. Butterflies were stamped before I crimped the envelope.

My Favorite Technique

That is the Speedy Fox and Friends Challenge this week. I have lots but the one I do the most is Sponging and 98 % of the time I cut out my images and pop them up. I really love the look of sponging and I have become very fond of those large sponge daubers. Here is my card. I have sponged the background and my snowman is cut out and applied to the background. Now this is something I have not tried before. Fabric on Cards.  I reached into the box of fabric I have in the closet and pulled out this festive Christmas fabric. Everyone loves Presents

This is a sneak peek of a new set called Presents. My background paper was made with an embossing folder and red and green ink. Isn't the Cardinal cute. Stop back next week to see the rest of the set.

Be Virtuous

This is the second Oriental stamp set being introduced this month. I've also used the new Mini set for this month to make my background. I absolutely love these dragonflies and you will see them on lots of cards for sure in the future. I stamped them on one of the Polished Stone backgrounds made from the Basic Backgrounds Column on Speedy TV. Polished Stone is a perfect background for the Oriental Stamps.  Be sure to catch the Blog Hop next week.

Sneak Peek of Lotus Blossoms

I love this set.  Here I used 2 of the stamps. The lotus blossom in the bottom corner is a stamp by itself. I colored it and then cut it out and popped it up over the flower on the main image. I've colored the whole thing with chalks. Stay tuned for the Blog Hop beginning next Tuesday to view the complete set.

Coloring on Glitter

Welcome SSSD ladies. This month swap technique is quick and fun. Let's get started. You need double sided adhesive sheets or a wide double sided tape, piece of card stock, Gold Outline Stickers, microfine white glitter and markers. 

Cut your adhesive sheet to the size you want your glittered layer. Remove protective paper from one side of your adhesive sheet. 

Now stick your stickers onto the sticky surface. 

Apply your microfine white glitter all over and then use your fingers to move it around and make sure the whole piece is covered.  Press down on it and work the glitter into the adhesive. Then shake off all the excess glitter. 

Here's what it looks like. Nice and sparkly. Remove the backing and stick it to your card stock. I've used Sticker Paper from Sparkle n Sprinkle so I can skip this step. It's already attached to paper.

Using your Copics color your design. The glitter will not hurt your markers. 

 Excuse that shadow. I have got to figure out what part of me is causing that in all my photos and get rid of it.
