Tutorial Time at Speedy TV #17

This week we are making Flap Cards at Speedy TV. Go on over and hilight Tutorial Time and click on
#17 for the directions.  I didn't have the magnet to keep the flap shut so I used a brad with a ribbon loop on it that can be shifted to open and close the flap. On the other side the bow helps to hold that side down.

Trick or Treat

Here's another peak at the new set MFP a HC I'm Going Batty. The trees are from the set Tree Greetings. I sponged the background. Then added a strip of white sponged brown for the side walk. The pumpkin is a circle with a notch cut out of the top. Fence, grass and bat are all die cuts. I think it's a fun card.

Speedy Fox and Friends Challenge 125

This week the challenge is Use your favorite technique. I love background techniques. My favorite thing to use is Webbing from Krylon on inked backgrounds. You can sponge, spray, smoosh, dab or however you want to apply your ink. Sometimes that is good enough and sometimes it needs something more. Thats where Webbing comes in. I just love it. So todays card is a metallics dabbed with sponge background that I sprayed with black Webbing. Go on over and show us your favorite technique to try and win a stamp set.

Misc. - Metallic inks, Black Webbing by Krylon.

SSSD-Sept. Technique-Double Embossing.

This is a fun, fast and easy technique. Here is what you will need. Embossing folders, Cuttlebug or machine of choice, ink pads, card stock and sponges or daubers.

First thing you do is put your card stock in and embossing folder and run it through your machine of choice.

Now lightly sponge a light color over the raised areas. You want most of the ink on the raised design.

So far so good. Easy right!!. Now stick your piece back into a different embossing folder. Inked side up. Remember the front of the folder is the one with the writing on it. Run it through your machine 3 or 4 times. This will flatten the first design while still embossing the new design. Take it out and sponge lightly with a darker color.

Here are 3 that I did with different folders.

And my card. Hope you enjoy this.

SSSD-Sept. Different Kind of Card/POP UP.

This is another easy card to do. Don't know why I never use this technique. Very quick and easy. Here's what you need.

              Card inside (white) is 5 1/2 x 8 1/2.  Fold in half.  Card Outside is 5 1/4 x 8 1/4. Fold in half.

Find the center at the fold of the inside piece and mark 1/2" on each side of this mark.

Cut 3/4" in on these 2 marks.

Fold your card in half pushing this cut section to the inside. Turn card over and crease this fold to lay flat.

                                                          Add your outer cover

                                                 Decorate the inside

Put your adhesive on the bottom half of the pop up fold.

Attach your image you are using as a pop up.

                                                   Decorate the outside.
