This week the challenge is to Doodle a frame. This is my fourth try. Doodling is not my thing I guess LOL. I just couldn't come up with anything I liked. I tried squggly lines and colored dots and this was the least offensive to me. I need lots of doodling practice for sure. The other ladies of the team have such nice doodles. Just don't know what my problem is. Over thinking it probably or maybe I'm just doodle challenged LOL. So go ahead and try your hand at it. I'm sure you will have less trouble with it than I had. Birthday Brads

I'm once again Playing with the Friday Mashup. Birthday card and using brads. Last week I was picked as a Mashup Glamette. That was nice to be recognized on my first try. The Ballons are brads and I cut a slit in the dogs mouth to put the strings so it appears he is holding them. See the circle. I told you they would be showing up. I'm afraid they may be showing up for the next month as I try to use them. Gives me a starting point though.

I am trying to get back to having some fun stamping so I am trying some new challenges. I missed last weeks challenge at the Cuttlebug Spot which was to use triangles. But this week is circles and I'm getting this in just intime but I have had a lot of fun with circles this week. I cut a bunch out and went to creating. You will be seeing them in the next few weeks. I should have been doing this challenge all along. I'm on my second Cuttlebug after wearing out the first one. So I will try and keep up now that I have started. Here is my card.

   I used the border stamp to make my background. I love this stamp. You will see or have already seen it quite a bit the last 2 weeks.  The rose is colored with Copics.

This Weeks Tutorial Time at Speedy TV

Today at Speedy TV I learned how to transfer a picture using packing tape. Living in the Boonies I don't know where I would have to go to get a Lasor copy so I went the magazine route which was not easy for me either. LOL. Don't buy magazines. Well I found an old West Virginia Travel guide that was on the book shelf.  Don't know why it was there but yeah!! so I found a picture and went to work. Soaked for the 15 minutes and then another 15 minutes and was about to give up when I found out you really have to rub hard to get the paper backing off. I did rip it trying to get the taped image off of my desk before I soaked it and you couldn't see it after the soaking process but it sure does show up on the card. Oh well. Let's just go with it looks distressed. Click on Tutorial #32 under Tutorial Time. Be sure to give it a try and enter your card. You could win a great stamp set.

I paper pieced the comfy chair. The window is a die cut. I stamped some trees and sponged a few clouds to put behind it. Added some wall paper and flooring along with the Grandfather clock to finish my room scene. Be sure to check out the blog hop. You could win a great stamp set.

Here is my card:

I made the background with the 2 bones that come with the set. I stamped the bones in three different shades of brown and then sponged the edges with the same three colors.  Be sure to follow the hop. You could win a great stamp set just by making a few comments.

A couple extras

This is such a cute set. My daughter used to collect rubber ducks, all dressed differently. We loved these little ducks so I could make lots of cards with this set and I did actually. I now have a supply of Baby cards. Cute saying too. I used the border stamp to make my background.

The other set this month has this cute little swan. I sponged the background added glitter to her wings and the 2 daisies. The sentiment on the inside of the card says,  "Look elegant above water. Kick like mad under the surface!"

A place to rest

Here is a sneak peak for a cute set called In My Den. I started out with a stencil and sponged my background design. I then used a IO Cover a Card background to stamp the plaid design on a piece of card stock. Then I stamped the chair and cut it out. I found some tissue paper in my stash that matched and 2 pieces of a shiney copper paper.

One more technique

This one is done with fancy die cuts or what is left after you remove the die cut.  I am using this card for another new Challenge I found at Loves Rubber Stamps Challenges..use a punch or die cut.

I tried two new techniques today

Had a little play time so I tried a couple background techniques this afternoon. Been so long since I've done this. What fun. Used both to make this card for a new Challenge I'm trying out..The Friday Mashup . This week was a color challenge. I used 3 of the colors to make both of my backgrounds.

Paper Bag Flowers

Truthfully I didn't know there were still paper bags. It's been many years since our groceries were loaded into paper bags. So many school books covered with those bags over the years. So anyways the Tutorial Time Challenge at Speedy TV is to make these flowers out of paper bags. Click on Challenge 31 for the tutorial. I didn't have a paper bag so I used a heavy tissue paper to die cut my flowers. I'm not sure what the paper was but the cool thing was it shriveled up when I hit it with the heat tool to speed the drying time up. The background was in my stash. I didn't have any buttons so I used large rhinestones. They were sprayed with first Walnut Ink. Then with Glimmer Mists Jazz Blue and Gold. Go on over and add your card. Challenge card & another Sneak peak

Now that things have slowed a bit I am trying to get back to doing some challenges. This is a new one for me. The Sparkle N Sprinkle blog Challenge, to follow a sketch.

I'm using a new set from MFP a HC called No Sour Grapes.

Hearts and Roses

I used 4 sentiments of this set to make my background on the larger die cut. I stamped it in a pale pink and then took one of the stamps and stamped it in black on top but slightly off.

Go Browns!!!

Oh wait. Football season is over for them. But as they say each end of football season, "there is always next year ". I'm afraid when I first saw this stamp set, the background stamp reminded me of my die hard Browns fans Family up in Ohio. Every Sunday on Face Book you will see them barking and dressed in their football watching clothes. I just couldn't resist making a card I could send to any of them. This set is actually called Fantastic Dogs.

This weeks challenge is to take a Christmas Card we received and recycle it in some way. I chose to replace the sentiment on the center of this card with a Glittered outline sticker. There were 3 green rhinestones on the ribbon. I replaced them with glittered holly leaves. Then added a sentiment. Go on over and show us your recycled card for a chance to win a great stamp set.

Triple Stamping / SSSD

Ladies of SSSD welcome to the 2013 Technique swap tutorial. I hope you enjoy it. 

Triple Stamping 

Begin by cutting your layers for stamping. I used 2 x 3 ¼, 3 x 4 1/4 and 4 x 5 ¼.

Use a double sided removable tape to layer your pieces.

Now decide what stamps you will be working with and stamp right on top of all 3 layers.

You can color this or leave it just one color. You can also put this in an embossing folder to add a little texture.

We’re now ready to matt the stamped layers and put our card together. Here are the measurements I used for my matts. 2 ¼ x 3 ½, 3 ¼ x 4 ½ and 4 ¼ x 11 scored at 5 ½ forming your card base.

I started by taking my stack and adhering it to the card base.

I then removed the 2 top layers and added the matt to the back and adhered it to the card base matching up the outlines.

Then I removed the top layer, matted it and adhered that to the card base matching up the outlines.

Add sentiment and embellishments to finish your card.
