Mojo Sketch

This should have been done on Monday. I was off work at 1:00 but I came home and sat down for just 2 minutes and off to sleep I went. I never nap but I have been so tired. So this morning before I left to make the burgers I worked on this one until it was finished. My sunflower die came the other day and I knew that was what I was going to use for the circle. Both pieces of background I found in my stash and were made with Glimmer mists and webbing.

Copics and paper

I have collected Copics like the rest of you but have not been real happy with them. They always seemed to bleed outside the lines of my image when I was coloring with them. Couldn't control it. Frustrated me and I would put them away and get out my pencils. I read a number of blogs weekly and lately the ladies have been talking about the Classic white card stock from Flourishes and how well it works with the Copics. Now I know everyone thinks their paper is the best. And I'm not usually easily convinced but I needed white card stock and the price was right so I bought some. It was worth a try I told myself. You can find it here: http://www.flourishes.org/servlet/the-1102/paper%2C-cardstock/Detail. Of course I just couldn't buy one pack of paper. Their stamps have been on my list for some time so I got myself 2 of the sets and I want to show you what I colored this evening. This paper is awesome. No bleeding! Colors blended easily. I'm so glad I ordered this paper. I'll bring my Copics out more often now. I was so pleased at how my images turned out. The rose is from the set. I Love Roses. I cut it out and attached it to a background I found in my stash. Not sure what technique it is but the colors matched. I used Copic #s YG 03 & 06 for the leaves and R 22, 27 & 29 for the rose. The stawberries are from a brand new set called Strawberries and were colored with R 22 & 27 and the leaves are YG 03 & 06 and the strawberry tops were done with YG 06 & 63.

Now to turn my pretty strawberries into a card.

It's Monday and I'm actually finished!!

It's been a great morning. I had the day off so I cooked meals for 2 days, cleaned the house and finished my Mojo Monday Sketch on MONDAY!! WoooooHooo. I do have to go to work at 4 but my sketch is done. The image is one I received in a swap. I colored it with my Prisma pencils and Gamsol. The sea shells are from Spellbinders. I cut them out of of a webbed background and then rubbed some color ino both of them. The backgrouund I had in my basket. It's a resist technique done on glossy card stock. Using Versa Mark stamp your background stamp and then emboss with white EP. Then water color over it with ink and a water brush. The embossed part resists the ink. Wonder if I can get anything else done before I leave.

This weeks Mojo

I was determined to get this done today. I missed last weeks due to my schedule. But today I had off. Taught a class and enjoyed some restful play. This card has 2 techniques. The crow is stamped in black on a Saran wrap technique. He's from I Brake for Stamps. The piece behind him is just sponged with Stonewashed Blue from Adirondack. It's actually a rejected sky for an upcoming Stampscapes class. The main background is sprayed with Glimmer Mists and then with Webbing. It was fun to get some play time today.
