I was really challenged

This weeks challenges really gave me trouble. I had a real hard time putting something together. Filled the trash can this afternoon. I was not happy with anything but I think I finally came up with a couple of ideas. Speedy the Cats Friends Challenge was to use Ivory & Lace. Image and sentiment by Marks Finest Papers.   I only wanted the magnolia so I cut it away from the stamp it is part of.

The Stampin Bs Challenge was to use the Collage technique and the GAB challenge was to use the Emboss Resist technique. The giraffe is embossed and I sponged over it. Cut it out into an oval. Layered on another oval and a rectangle.  The background was a trial and error. I sponged. I smeared. I dragged the ink pad over the paper and then I sponged it again until I was happy with the color. All stamps are from Marks Finest Papers. I used both techniques on this card. MFP also sells the Bakers Twine I've used. This is not the stamp set I intended to use but nothing I put together made any sense to me. I probably was not meant to craft today. I love this little giraffe and am happy with this card.

1-2-3 recipe challenge

Papercraft Star has a challenge this week that uses this great sketch.

The requirements though have you use a recipe. 1 color of card stock. 2 different designer papers. 3 pieces of bling. My flower embellishment was made with one of the new Cuttlebug quilling kits. I fooled around this morning rolling and rolling and rolling. Finally figured it out. No real directions come with the kit. My next one though will be made with really light weight card stock. I think that will roll and fold down so much easier than the SU card stock I used for this one.

Bright and cheery

That's what this card is. I was using it for my next DT assignment at Stamping Vacation (Monochromatic oranges) but since that site is on hold for a short while I decided to rework it and use it for the challenge at GAB "use a punch". Stamp is from I Brake for Stamps. They also sell the Prima flowers. I used Prisma pencils and Gamsol to color her. The punch is a Martha Stewart Punch around the Page.

I actually have this weeks challenges done already!!

I'm moving right along. Had the day off and devoting it to playing. Besides my other challenges I love I have challenged myself to use only what I have in the scrap basket. I have got to get this thing under control. So until its used up if that's possible I am not getting out a whole piece of card stock unless necessary. I wonder how long I can go. We shall see. You are probably going to see a lot of webbing also as the basket is full of it. I have my crazy periods where I spray anything that doesn't move and until I use it up I can not spray anymore. Here is my card for The Friends of Speedy the Cat challenge. We were to use "tone on tone and pop up the focal image". I stamped him twice. Both layers are popped up. The top squirrel is minus his tail. The ribbon and images are all from Marks Finest Papers.

The next card is for The Stampin Bs "make a Spring scene". My explanation is the frog is dancing for joy because winter is over and Spring is here. That and this stamp has been on my desk along with that saying for months. It was time to use it.

My daughter picked out that bling. Wasn't sure what I would do with it at the time but it worked perfectly for this. The stamps are from I Brake for Stamps.

TGIF

Yes I know its Wednesday but the challenge at The Stampin Bs was TGIF-texture,green,iridescent and begin with F. The background is sprayed with Pearl Glimmer Mist but does not show in the photo. Sentiment from Marks Finest papers Happy Pansies set.

It's been a rough week but I'm catching up.

Saturday I worked 13 1/2 hours and boy did it do me in. I am just toooooo old for that many hours on my feet. So no card making until today but at least I'm getting my challenges in before they were over. This card is for The Friends of Speedy the Cat.  The challenge this week was monochromatic blues. Both image and sentiment from Marks Finest Papers. Pansy colored with Copics. I'm also using this for the GAB challenge which was to use one of the designers sketches. This was Courtney's.
