This weeks Mojo and my new Spellbinder dies have arrived

Now I just need time to play with them. I'll be on a weeks vacation soon though so I know what I will be doing. In the mean time Monday has come and gone. I did get my Sketch card finished. As you can see the Raspberry Tart paper was still on my desk. I'm really liking it and I really like this sketch. Does anyone know why SU discontinued Purely Pomegranate when it goes so well with this paper. What were they thinking. The rose is a favorite from TAC. I use it a lot.

Here is a sneak peak at one of my new dies. This is part of the Miniabilities. There are 8 little flowers in this set. They are going to make really nice embellishments. I stenciled these with SU inks before I removed each one from the die. I hope to play with a few more before the week end so be on the watch out for more.

I had a play day!!

All you FL. girls bragging about your weekly play dates with out me well guess what I had a play day. :O) Sunday my husband had too work so I had the day to myself. I got to work on my Easter cards. Gathered up my new SU papers and made lots of cards. Not one is the same as any other. I colored my cute little chickies from Stampendous with Copic markers. This one uses a Martha Stewart edge punch and my circle Nestabilities. Purely Pomegranate and Pink Pirouette card stock along with a piece from the Raspberry Tart set.

Here's another with thw same chickies but I've mixed and matched the Raspberry Tart papers along with Kiwi Kiss and Purely Pomegranate. I also added some light green pearls.

This next image I do not know where it is from. I stamped a couple at the Stamping Studio. Embossed in gold and colored in with Copics. I love it and would like to find it or something similar. It is a very pretty stained glass looking piece. Used some of Basic Grey's Urban Prarie paper and some pink pearls. SU Soft Sky and Blue Bayou card stock matched the paper perfectly and the image that I had colored in some time ago. .

This last card was colored with Prisma pencils and Gamsol. The image is from Dots. Again I used the Blue Sky and Blue Bayou card stock. See the stamp on the background. Found it at Micheals last Saturday for a $1.00 along with matching soaps, journals and this great ribbon. I wish I had bought more of the ribbon. I hope they still have it in 3 weeks when I get back there. The stamp is perfect for us. It says Down on the Farm and I stamped it with VersaMark. The 2 little butterflies are a Martha Stewart punch and I used a piece of one of my technique stash papers to punch them out.

So see ladies I can have play dates too!! Of course they are probably more fun with friends arounds but I do have the cows, chickens, goats and dogs to keep me company. And they don't pick on me. I'll be adding pig to that list as we will be getting one in April when we get back from Ohio. Will be visiting my boys for a few days. Then I will be working full time getting my daughters Graduation announcements and Thank you's finished. It's hard to believe my baby isn't a baby anymore.

Mojo Monday #79

I wanted to post this yesterday but was exhausted when I got home from work. Made the card and sat down not to move again for the rest of the evening. I recently purchased some new stamps and stamped up a bunch of images to work with. This guy was one of them. He is from High Hopes. Now I know it's not Christmas but he's so cute with his bunny slippers and he was the right shape for this weeks sketch. The saying is from Penny Black but I only used part of it. The white background is embossed webbing and the red piece is a faux marbeling done with webbing. Have I ever mentioned how much I LOVE WEBBING!! Mr. Moose was colored with Copic markers and cut out. Check out the Mojo Monday blog. Try the sketches and check out all the great cards the other ladies post. It is a great source of inspiration.

We've had another birth

I noticed the mother crane was not on the nest so we ventured back into the pasture. Didn't get the greatest pictures but you can see them. They do not cooperate. The 2 were probably born a week ago but we have been so concerned about the cow giving birth we hadn't been watching. I'm going to keep trying though.

We have a new member to our family

Please meet Miss Cowleen. Born this morning around 7. We are thrilled. Her poor mama, Miss Cowsandra, had such a rough birth last year and the calf was lost. The Vet had said he didn't think she'd be able to give birth again so we were keeping our fingers crossed. It's been a good day. Now we wait for the next calf to be born in about a month.

2 cards for the Mojo Monday sketch

This was an interesting sketch for me. So many pieces of paper. Mixing and matching of different patterns and techniques. I can see lots of possibilities for this one though . The first card has a Poppy from I brake for Stamps, the Stampin Back line. I embossed it in black on Vellum and colored in with Copics. Y17-YR68-R17-G14-YG67 and 100. Used 2 pieces of different techniques and a strip that was Cuttlebugged. The little butterfly is a Martha Stewart punch. I just bought this one. LOVE IT! For the second card I used the Cuttlebug die set, From the Sea. It is fast becoming one of my favorites. Crimped the sea horse and sponged him with dark brown. It doesn't show up in the photo. Sprayed all 3 pieces with gold Glimmer Mist. Stamps are from See-D's.
Any day now we should have a new calf. Hoping for no problems this year. If you remember last years births were not successful. Still hanging on to the names I had picked out. Mom is Cowsandra. baby will be Cowleen or Cowlvin. Just hope I get to use the name this time. Also still waiting on the Sand Hill Crane babies. Should be anytime. The back pasture is loaded with wild baby pigs and Turkeys of all sizes. I love the one. He looks like the Thanksgiving turkey. All puffed up and tail spread out. I can just see him wearing a Pilgrims hat. He's great.

Mojo Monday under the sea

Here is my card for this week. This is a great sketch. Lots of possibilities. I looked through my basket for background paper and came across this picture Robin had taken on Sanibel Island. That became my theme. I'm looking forward to going back there this summer. Added a couple of Cuttlebugged Sea horses and a sand dollar along with a brayered background I had webbed. All layered on Navy card stock. The Sea Horses were put through the crimper and sponged with several colors until I was happy with them.

I'm in " Just Cards"

Just got the notice in todays mail. This is the card. The Pinecone and the Moose are McGill punches. The tree is from I Brake for Stamps. The blue is chalk. I was real surprised. Don't even remember making it let alone sending it in. I need to get moving on making more to send in to the different magazines. It's been since Nov. so I need to get motivated. To busy doing other things I guess.
Are all of you as worn out as I am today. This changing of time has done me in. It was so hard to get up this morning. Good thing I had to go to work or I might not have gotten up. Yesterday we had a wonderful day. Went to the Strawberry Festival. Ate some strawberries of course. Bought some crafts. Enjoyed the time with family. Went to Stumpknockers for lunch and then spent the rest of the afternoon sitting in my swing reading the paper and watching the wild turkeys run around the pasture. The weather was super and it was so nice sitting there relaxing. Now on to work on my Mojo Monday Sketch.

Mojo Monday and a my new stamp

I look forward to coming home from work every Monday to see what the Sketch is this week. I am also determined to complete it on Monday too. So far so good. I just got my order from I Brake for Stamps and sat down with my Copics to color in this Peacock. He was just too big for the sketch so I looked through my stamps and came up with this PSX heart. I really wanted to stamp it in brown but I also wanted to use my Copics so I am here to tell you Adirondack ink does not smear. This brown is Expresso. The list of Copics used is below the picture.

I have been looking for a realistic peacock and on the I Brake for Stamps Yahoo group someone showed a card they had made with it. I went searching and found it and now it is mine along with a few other stamps. You can't buy just one now can you. Again I used Copics and have included the color list with my picture. I think these are fast turning into my favorite stamping supply.

A little bit of nature

Took a walk back to our pond. A Sand Hill Crane nests there every year. Last year was the first time a baby survived and we loved watching him grow up. Mrs. Crane started sitting on the nest last week so we took a walk out there. She let us see there are 2 eggs this year. With my new camera I should get some good pictures of the babies when they hatch. We also had a close look at a Blue Bird. They are so pretty.
